Dr. Bahador has been a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of California since March 2001. She has been working in her independent private practice since 2003. Her clinical work has specialized in comprehensive psycho-educational assessments, which include neuropsychological testing. These assessments clarify diagnoses (if appropriate) and help to understand an individual’s cognitive, learning and psychological profile, including strengths and challenges. The results and specific recommendations enable parents, teachers and treatment providers to provide the interventions and support individual's need so they can function optimally: educationally, professionally, socially and personally.
Dr. Bahador has been conducting intellectual assessments as part of the admissions process to the Mirman School for highly gifted children since 2004. She also conducts parent consultations, including educational and school placement consultations.
Professional Background:
Dr. Bahador completed her post-doctoral licensing hours at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute (NPI) from 1999 to 2001 as Project Coordinator of the ADHD Genetic Study. In that capacity, she received extensive training and supervision on the assessment, diagnoses and treatment of ADHD, Learning Disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder by top UCLA psychiatrists and neuropsychologists. Dr. Bahador’s clinical responsibilities included conducting diagnostic interviews with children, adolescents, and adults. She also conducted neuropsychological, cognitive, and academic assessments with children and adolescents. After her post-doctoral training, Dr. Bahador earned a position as a staff psychologist and supervisor at St. John's Child and Family Development Center in Santa Monica from 2001 to 2002. In that capacity, she conducted psycho-educational assessments with children and adolescents, individual and family psychotherapy, and parent education and training groups. In 2001, Dr. Bahador also joined the private practice of neuropsychologist, Lorie Humphrey, Ph.D., where she received extensive training and supervision regarding neuropsychological assessments. Over the course of two and a half years, Dr. Bahador conducted over one hundred neuropsychological assessments under the direct consultation of Dr. Humphrey.
