Dr. Bruce graduated with an honors Bachelor of Science degree (B.Sc. Hons.) in Psychology from Birkbeck, University of London, in London, England. Prior to that, she studied at the University of Toronto in Toronto, Canada. Dr. Bruce earned both her Master of Arts degree (M.A.) and Doctor of Philosophy degree (Ph.D.) in Clinical Psychology from the well-respected California School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles, California’s largest and oldest graduate program for psychologists.
In addition to the above, Dr. Bruce sought additional postgraduate training and has received a Certificate in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from the Wright Institute, Los Angeles and a Certificate in Child Abuse and Trauma from the Family Stress Center, Child and Family Guidance Center, both highly respected postgraduate training facilities.
Dr. Bruce’s additional experiences have contributed to her developing expertise in a number of different areas. Apart from her psychotherapy practice, which includes individual, couple and family psychotherapy with children, adolescents and adults, Dr. Bruce has also developed expertise in psychological testing and provides thorough evaluations and comprehensive, well-written reports for both forensic and educational purposes.
Dr. Bruce has conducted forensic evaluations in numerous civil litigation matters and has served as an expert witness in personal injury cases specific to psychological trauma, sexual abuse/assault, foster care abuse , difficult divorce matters and childhood abuse matters. Dr. Bruce has also conducted forensic evaluations in child custody cases and pre-adoption matters.
Dr. Bruce employs several staff clinicians who are also available to work with clients of all ages.
